I've been designing with Scrapbook Circle's beautiful February kit, "Will You Be Mine?". Here are my projects:
I used the JanBonus sketch from Inspired Blueprints for "wHOOP" and I made the fabric yo-yo flower that I learned in the "Embellishments: Beautifully Handmade" class over at Get It Scrapped! The layout below, "Why" was inspired by yet another wonderful class at Get It Scrapped, Get with the Times, part of the Sense & Sensibility symposium. Can you tell I love the classes offered by Debbie Hodge? She is a terrific teacher and finds other terrific teachers and topics to offer.
I think this last layout is my favorite. I took old photos of my parents (before they were my parents, lol), scanned them, and printed them on white textured cardstock. My mom died 10 years ago. I enjoy seeing these pictures of a young, happy, healthy Ann and a young, dashing, adoring Cooper. Perfect for Valentine's Day, or any time.

Hip Hop Unity Challenges
I made 2 cards today for the Unity Hip Hop challenges at Splitcoast Stampers. I used stamps from the Unity Dec. and Jan. KOTM and "Simply Said" and the "Cupcards {to go}" January kit for all paper and embellies.

History
Wanted to make note of today's historic significance. So, in addition to spending hours watching the Inauguration coverage on TV (much to Tessa's dismay... after she saw President Obama make his entrance, she was done), I scrapped a layout to help our family remember today. I included a Haiku that Seth wrote last week in his English class. He was quite interested in watching the CBS Evening news recap of the day (he missed seeing the Inauguration live because he was busy sledding w/some neighborhood kids, in our 1/2 inch of snow). And I will save the newspaper and some other memorabilia... and I will pray for our new President.

January Journal
Day 13 and I'm keeping up! I'm so excited to be doing a January Journal, thanks to Lisa over at Willow Traders. She issued the challenge and some of us are taking this little journey together to record something every day.
It is also going to help me get into the groove for Project 365, which I hope to do all year. My kit arrived yesterday. I love the idea of having a lot more of my photos printed and in an album, as well as some memorabilia. As the year progresses, I want my family to take some of the photos and do some of the journaling, too.
I'm also loving the material from the Sense & Sensibility classes at Get it Scapped... now, to just find some time to create with a few of these ideas swirling around in my head!

Hip Hop Thursday Projects
I love Unity Stamp's Hip Hop Thursdays over at Splitcoast Stampers! Today I made 2 cards for challenges.
I also used the Unity large snowflake on this tag I quickly made for this candy tin we took to Seth's new teacher today.
And if you didn't notice, I used Unity stamps with the Scrapbook Circle January kit for my blog header this month. I just love making new blog headers with my scrapping and stamping supplies!

And the year's already flying!
Wow, we're already a week into 2009! I am taking a wonderful online symposium over at Get It Scrapped, Sense & Sensibility, made up of 3 classes: Get Real, Lighten Up, and Get with the Times. The content of the classes at Get It Scrapped is fabulous.
I'm participating in a January Journal challenge at Willow Traders and so far, so good. I have done a page everyday... much better than my Dec. Daily/Merry Days album (which I got made but didn't add anything to... good intentions but the holidays got the best of me... but I may finish it yet... or I'll do it next year, lol!).
I'm loving Unity Stamps. I used them in my January Blog Header with items from the Scrapbook Circle January Kit. I also used one today in my January Journal (see the cute sun stamp in the corner, from the Dec. KOTM). Hip Hop comes back tomorrow and I'll be doing the blog hop and hopefully doing a challenge or two. I can't wait to get the January KOTM - isn't it adorable?

Hello, 2009!
We ushered in the new year with our own family version of a New Year's Eve party: s'mores, a movie ("Big"), football, and some dancing with glo-sticks and noisemakers (not that our kiddos need anything to help them be noisy). I'm working on a January Journal (similar to the Dec. Daily/Merry Days album that I failed to keep current), but this time I'm going to make it as I go and I hope to keep up (thanks to Lisa's challenge over at Willow Traders). We'll be having a nice dinner tonight and one last evening with Grandma before she flies home early tomorrow morning. We have all enjoyed her Christmas and New Year's visit and we'll miss her (isn't she a good sport... see photo below). Happy New Year!
