Merry Christmas!! We have had such a fun few days... Friday evening visit to see Santa, riding the trolley with Uncle Ken (who then took the kids to dinner so Kent & I could have a date), Christmas church services, Christmas Eve dinner at Kabuto, seeing Christmas lights, "tree time" and gifts, a big Christmas breakfast with Papa, and more celebrations to come with Grandma and family in MS later this week. We'll also be attending the Liberty Bowl in Memphis on Saturday and then seeing in the new year in MS before we drive home.
The new year will hold some fun scrapbooking accomplishments for me - a couple of guest designer spots at some great kit clubs and my stamp design featured at another! Stay tuned! Happy New Year!

Grandmother (All About Eve Challenge #12)

When I read All About Eve's Challenge#12 "Hindsight", I thought immediately of Grandmother, and my regrets about not having spent the time learning from her that my cousins did. Was happy to find a photo I took of her back in the late 70s/early 80s, looking just as I remember her. So glad to have done this challenge, paying a tribute to my Grandmother while also capturing my feelings of regret. We learn as we get older, don't we? I hope my kids will have no regrets one day about their grandparents; this will help me to encourage them, though young, to take the time to learn from Grandma and Papa now!

The Harrison "Elves"

Okay, this was just too funny not to share:

I'll take some photos of some of my more "serious" Christmas projects and get them posted soon.

Tessa's Artwork

Just wanted to share this horse picture that Tessa drew the other day. She carefully watched an "extra" on the Spirit DVD (3 times) about how to draw a horse. I think she did a super job (especially for a 4-yr.-old)! I will showcase one of Seth's drawings soon (after getting his permission... at 8.5 years, he likes to maintain creative control, LOL!)

We had a fun Halloween. Here's a layout I did using a sketch from Debbie Hodge's "Scrap Your Events" class over at NYC Scraps http://www.nycscraps.com/. I love this class! In fact, I have loved all the classes I have taken there - they are a terrific value and I get so much done when I take them!

I've been tagged!

I have been tagged by Michele. http://michele32scrappin.blogspot.com/

Rulez:Here are the rules which must be posted on your blog if you are tagged: 1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

So, decided to make my "7 Facts" about Halloween:

1. I've always loved dressing up for Halloween and used to have Pumpkin carving parties when I was single.
2. In 6th or 7th grade, my friend Maureen & I dressed up silly to go "Trick or Treating" one last year... and we were told at one house that we were too old...sigh...
3. In college at UNC-CH, Halloween was a big party; but the best one was the year we went to the children's wing of the hospital in the afternoon to entertain the kids.
4. I had tons of fun being a "Mime" for Halloween in college (except when the heart I painted on my face did not come off for weeks).
5. I've made lots of costumes but have only sewn one: Hobbes the tiger from Calvin & Hobbes. That "fur" messed up my sewing machine, LOL! Kent was Calvin.
6. One year I was a Teller II machine - fun interactive costume! No, I did not keep any of the debit or credit cards :-)
7. This year Seth is going as Harry Potter, so although obsessed with horses and in possession of a horse costume, Tessa wants to be Hermione. Go figure! Pics will be posted in a few days.

Happy Halloween!

Okay, here's what I've realized. I'm not much of a blogger or even a very regular blog reader. And I can't think of one of my "IRL" buddies that has a blog. That said, I will tag some of my online pals (but if you don't want to "play tag", I totally understand). And I don't know how to link your blog with your name, so I'm just naming you... guess I better get more educated in blogging!

So, "TAG" Tali, Christy, Chrissy, Rachel, Terri, Susan & Karen (all Willows!)

Disney Trip!

We had the most wonderful vacation the last week of September at Disney World! We visited all 4 parks and had so many "magical" moments.

Seth really wanted Tessa to get to wake up Tinkerbell like he did when he was almost 4. Alas, we were too late. But because Kent was wearing his birthday button (and received about 100 "happy birthdays", was sung to, and got a free mini-cake), a "Dreams Castmember" remembered Kent and Tessa from Tink's Treasures in the morning. She asked Tessa to be the Cruise Director at It's a Small World and she was precious. Tessa waved from the booth and then waved at all the dolls when we rode in the first car! We also were in a group at "Dinosaur" in Animal Kingdom to receive "million dreams" lanyards and pins; then we were chosen to be the family of "Time Traveler Specialists" and got our own car to ride through Dinosaur. Fun!

So many special memories: Soarin' at Epcot, Buzz Lightyear many times (Kent was the winner - Space Ace with over 500,000 points!), Character meetings and autographs, roller coasters, Primeval Twirl for Seth, Epcot Food & Wine Festival for us while kids enjoyed Cub's Den, jet-skiing at resort lake for K & S, the Jamitors at Epcot and jugglers at AK, talking Harry Potter with "Shaq" at Disney MGM, "Lights Motors Action" show at MGM, terrific view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our condo's back window... and so much more!

"Lucky that..."

We are the "lucky" ones, sweet daughter! Lucky that you are part of our family and lucky that you are an optimist. At almost 4, you do indeed look for the bright side in any situation. We are blessed. Did this layout for the "Journey with SusieQ" class I am taking over at Willow Traders.

I've been scrapping!

Yesterday, I scrapped! Finally! It felt so good to create again...

Here is the layout I did for the current challenge at All About Eve, "Everyday."

I have also caught up some in the class I am taking over at Willow Traders. You can see some recent layouts at my Willow Gallery link on the right.
Also received a bit of good news related to scrapping this week but can't say anything for a few months. :o)

Wow - I won!

I am so honored to have won the stamp design contest over at The ScrapRoom http://www.scrap-room.com/ and to be "Co-Stamp Diva" with Debbie Gaydos! Our sets will be featured as the stamp set of the month in the future (think the first one will be in Nov.) Just doing a little happy dance today! Thanks for sharing in my joy! And a big thank you to my talented father, Cooper Walker, who took my design and did the digital work for me!

Layout for All About Eve challenge #4

I scrapped this layout for the "Scrap your Booty" challenge at All About Eve (http://allabouteve-challenges.blogspot.com/). It was a fun challenge! I also did my "layering" for my Journey class over at WT.

Hello and welcome to my little creative spot. This is where I will post some of my creations, as well as interesting (and maybe not so interesting) tidbits from my life. This layout was done in a challenge over at Willow Traders, and seemed like a good way to start my blog.
